Creating & spreading awareness & support using poetry, story sharing, Playback performance and sound healing honoring the lives of #MMIW/P.
Playback Theater takes stories from the audience members who are invited to share moments, memories, and reflections in response to a theme. The actors skilled in the art of listening play back through improvisation the stories that were shared, creating a collective healing experience.
This gathering is rooted in the belief that performance and expressive art can open spaces where grief, remembrance, truth, and healing can coexist. At this event, through story sharing, embodied performance and sound healing the lives of Indigenous people whose voices have been silenced will be elevated. The deep impact of the ongoing crisis of human trafficking and it uniquely impacts native communities will be acknowledged. Stories from the community with be held and witnessed.
Stories carry memory. Re-Membering carries truth. Truth, when honored through witnessing, becomes a healing path home. Together we gather not only to remember, but to reclaim our shared humanity and remember our way home to the innate healing capacity that exists within nature.
